The prices are fair and the portions are generous. Most of the servers have been working here for years, and the service they provide is friendly and efficient. For pancake lovers, you’ll be happy to find that for any breakfast item that normally comes with toast, you can substitute pancakes. For places like this the safest (i.e., most predictable) meal would probably be breakfast. Rather, the food is typical of any American family-style restaurant (like, say, a Denny’s). If you’re looking for contemporary, cutting edge farm-to-table cuisine, you won’t find it here.

The important thing at a place like this is to keep your expectations realistic. The large vinyl booths, the rotating pie display and the numerous keno-style monitors showing the latest lottery results (hence the name “Keno’s”) are truly reminiscent of a 60’s- and 70’s-era Las Vegas hotel coffee shop. What differentiates Keno’s operationally from those cafes is the fact that they also have a separate sports bar, which I have not visited. coffee shops that once dotted the United States.
